Processing a new Member in RAMCO is translated to creating a New Membership Record in the system. whether that be Secondary or if it's their first Membership it will be their Primary. This Article will discuss how to process a Member in RAMCO when they do not have a NRDS/M1 Member ID yet.
If they have a NRDS/M1 Member ID already that means you will have to download their M1 Information. You can do this by creating a fresh Contact Record and inputting their First Name, Last Name, and M1 Member ID and saving the record. Within 15 minutes or less the information will be download from NRDS/M1 into your system. You can then follow the steps below to create a Secondary Membership Record with your association.
If the Member is switching Primary Associations to your Association then please see this Article
Membership Application Wizard
Like most processes in RAMCO we will be using a Wizard to fill out a Application in order to generate a Membership. The Membership Application Wizard can be launched from the Contact Record by using the below Screenshot to navigate to:
A Pop-up Window will open which will allow you to select the Membership Type you would like to establish, Last COE Date, Local Join Date, and the Proration Date for their Dues. See below:

You will then be prompted to select whether you would like to establish a Primary or Secondary Membership for the Member. Note: If they do not have an Active Membership currently the system will default to Primary and Secondary will be greyed out like below.

On the next screen will be your Membership Application Fees listed. These will vary depending on the Member Type you have selected. For information on how to set up Application Fees see this Article

After you select a Fee you will be navigated to Office Selection. If you choose to search for an Office that already exists in your system keep in mind that the Wizard will only show Offices that are Active and have a Relationship type of "Office." If an office doesn't exist in your system yet you can add one through the Membership Application Wizard.
Keep in mind to avoid M1 errors that the Primary Contact of the Office must have a Active Membership with M1/NRDS at the time that the Member is added to the Office. You can always use a temporary Office Contact such as a Staff Contact in scenarios where you adding an Office while processing a Broker for that same Office. We call this the Chicken and Egg scenario.

The next screen will be collecting some personal information such as Home address and Phone Number for the new Member. This is important to capture as some of these fields are required by M1.
Afterwards you can submit the Application. If there are NRDS/M1 errors you will know right away because they will be in red text. These are usually data errors which can be analyzed using the NRDS Sync Tool on the contact record. Look for fields that are marked with a Red Asterisk that might have been missed during your Wizard Session.
After the Application is submitted to NRDS/M1 a M1 Member ID will be generated on the Contact Record and the At-a-glance data will be populated with new information. The Membership Application will be Submitted and a Order will be generated for Dues based on your set up of the Membership Application Fee and related Dues Option. Keep in mind that a Membership will not be generated until all the Membership Requirements are fulfilled. For more information on Member Type Requirements please see this Article
