Page Text allows you to communicate specific information to customers on any portal page and edit that information without custom code changes. Cobalt allows you to make updates to text on your portal pages from CRM using Page Text records.
Your system will come preloaded with common pages that you can easily edit. There may also be times that you have custom pages or add pages that don't have a Page Text record. You can create those Page Text records and edit them in CRM.
Create A New Page Text Record
Copy the specific page identifier of the URL and place it in the search box to make sure it doesn't exit already. If it does skip to Editing, if it does not continue to the next step.
For example if your full URL is https://testportal.cobaltsaas.com/Public/Directory.aspx?3ks93s.sse
**Note that the actual URL in your browser may show more characters after the aspx. In most cases those should be removed. Also everything from your base URL should be removed so you are just at the page specific url information.
Click +New to add the new record and fill in the required fields.
- Page Title---The title you will use to know which page this is. For example, Member Directory.
- URL--The URL for the page.
*The URL is exactly what you pasted into the search box.
- Introduction Text -- This is the text that you will create to display on the portal page.
Once you have the Introduction Text the way you want click Save & Close.
The text will appear on the portal page.
Note that due to portal caching, it could take up to an hour or so to see the changes. If you don't see them after that long then check with support to make sure that everything is set up correctly.
Edit Existing Page Text
Open the Page Text record and edit the Introduction Text.
Click Save & Close. Your updates should be reflected on the portal page.
